Seems to be a nice app. But it's not there yet.

I got to scan one volume with 300.000+ files and had a crash. Also now scanning one folder with large movies - takes a seriously long amount of time (probably because of the hashing)
but the CPU is barely used.

I have backups on multiple external disks and still cannot find them with SH. What I really need is compare files on an unlimited number of different volumens ie one external disk vs my mac hd vs another disk.

Looks like there are a heap of folks waiting for a good file compare app: http://echeng.com/journal/2006/11/23/i-want-beyond-compare-2-for-mac-os-x/

Cheers Ed

I am also experiencing crashes. When I scan a 17.86G folder it gets about half done, appears to stop and then crashes. Other than that I like the application.

Have not been able to complete a single scan... I have tried my downloads folder, my documents folder, etc, no matter what folder I choose to scan, it takes an EXTREMELY long time, gets halfway done and then freezes or crashes.

Same here. It's been scanning my Documents folder for literally 6 hours.

Also, why no response here from the developer(s)? Nobody who's commented here has gotten this to work.

I've been frustrated because this is almost an awesome app. For small folders and such it works just fine. Throw anything of a decent size at it and it chokes. Watching it in the command line it looks like it uses up all available memory and then either dies outright or goes to sleep (which is why it seems to be taking so long for some people, its really dead bascially). Searching by file name/size works like a breeze, but that won't do the job right.
I've seen many people touting apps like this, but they have all their foibles. Unfortunately the issue with this app is that it can't handle big jobs. I'd gladly pay $20-$30 if it worked. It's worth the money to not have to spend hours mucking through 5 years of badly done 'backups'.

Not a tech guy, just someone who likes things that work. This doesn't, experienced the same failures as those above. Don't waste your time if you have anything of size to be compared (ie 1Gb or more).

It crashed on first use and froze on my screen. When I try to get rid of it I get an error code 61 message. It also seems to have installed another app called Singular.action. Help!

Wow, this app is awesome at crashing. The marketplace for unresponsive crashing applications is pretty crowded, but this one really does crash better then almost everything else on the market.

Glad to know I'll never use up all five "trial" scans because I can't complete a single one! KUDOS!
